Opening Orlando doors again could not be more poetically expressed than imagining this scenario: The famed Mickey Mouse opens the doors of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle as sparkles and magic fill the air.
Here at Bullhorn Media, we know children of all ages have missed the theme parks of Orlando over two months as we suffered the coronavirus pandemic. Families will surely appreciate the opening of theme parks again. We know there will be social distancing, temperature-taking and masks. But there will also be fun and magic, as we begin opening Orlando doors to Walt Disney World and all of our famous theme parks attractions.
In the last two blogs we advised you on how to open your small businesses. Now, we’ll show you how to reopen the doors to summer fun, post-Pandemic. Truly, it will be different, but it will still be fun.
Opening Orlando Doors on Summer Fun: The Bullhorn Mini-Calendar
Disney World plans to open on July 11, but not all at once. They will be staging their opening attractions. “Disney World plans to reopen the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom on July 11. Epcot and Disney Hollywood Studios will open a little later, on July 15.
- More happy news includes the re-opening of SeaWorld. Those watery Orlando doors open again on June 11.
- Previous to SeaWorld, we will see the re-opening of Universal Orlando on June 5. Their representatives stated, “This carefully managed reopening comes with stringent new health, safety and hygiene procedures in place. So, as we enjoy our parks together again, everyone will need to follow CDC guidelines, the recommendations of health officials, and Universal Orlando’s policies.”
Disney Opening Orlando Doors Safely Against the Coronavirus
Bullhorn Media was pleased to learn that Disney World has instituted rigorous rules to keep the attendees safe and healthy.
- Watch Your Space: They will limit the numbers of people they will admit. This will help enforce appropriate social distancing requirement of 6 feet.
- Limits on the Magic: To discourage large crowds, the park has cancelled its famous parades and nighttime spectaculars. Likewise, there will be no character close-up meetings, playgrounds and makeovers.
- Screening for Fever: The park will be checking temperatures.
4. The Toughest Part of Opening Doors in Theme Parks–Facing the Mask:
Probably the most unpopular new rule will be the wearing of face masks. We have discovered that opening Disney’s Orlando doors means that everyone over age 3 will have to wear face coverings. We have also heard that there will be areas called “relaxation zones.”
In those restricted areas, “guests can safely remove face coverings. This sounds like a good idea to us because face masks could get very uncomfortable for any typical hot summer day in Orlando.
And Disney Has A Few Other Rules for Opening Orlando Doors in Safety and Health
5. Don’t Get Lost: Be sure you have your smartphone. Seriously, you can use your App, but Disney World will not distribute paper maps to help you find your way.
6. Go Cashless, Please: Disney World is expanding the contactless payment system. We have seen this growing in popularity at all levels of business. Likewise, “Those who buy souvenirs will have to bag their own items…”
7. Clever Cafes: Likewise, to minimize the threat or fear of surface contamination, Disney restaurants will be using disposable paper menus.
8. Stations of Sanitation: You will find more hand-washing and sanitizing stations throughout the parks.
More Fun In–and Out–of the Sun in Orlando
You will use these 8 rules and perhaps a few more at theme parks and public venues across Florida and in most of these United States.
After the theme parks, if your family is yearning for entertainment that is are cooler and quieter, we have good news. Many museums with healthy exhibits and events are also opening their Orlando doors again.
With an intense focus on maintaining cleanliness, enhancing physical distancing, and reducing contact, Central Florida is still the most magical place on earth.
Different, But Fun!
As more and more businesses, attractions, and events open Orlando doors, you might discover that, in the words of Disney World, “It may be different from the last time you visited. But together, we can find new ways to create magical moments—and memories to treasure.”
Thank you for reading our Bullhorn Media Blog and we wish you a safe Orlando Opening.
