Orange County Convention Center Shines!

The Orange County Convention Center shines brightly for Orlando, Florida, the USA, and beyond! If you have noticed the influx of heavy traffic around the International Drive, you might know the convention season has arrived. It has hit full force in Orlando.  And the Orange County Convention Center is the beating heart of much of the activity.

Often we feel obligated to bring you the latest in technology about media.  However, in this blog, we are going to bring you information that is a little closer to home.  As videographers and photographers, the owners and staff of Bullhorn Media have spent days working for clients who have conventions all over the central Florida area. Thus we have spent many happy hours creating photography and films at the Orange County Convention Center.  Or OCCC as Orlando residents call it.

It’s odd that many folks who live here and do business here have never toured the facility.  The architecture alone has wowed folks from all over the world.  In fact, many people who live right here in Orlando do not realize that OCCC is the second-largest convention facility in North America. OCCC has existed in Orlando for 35 years.  So, we take it a just little bit for granted.

A Stack of Facts and Stats

Here at Bullhorn, we love trivia which is another way of saying we are meticulously detail-oriented. Yet, even after working many times in the breath-taking atmosphere of the OCCC, we had to fact-check ourselves to verify the basic statistics for you:

• The OCCC “provides 2.1 million square feet of exhibition space…” And we think we have filmed or photographed about that many various products as we create convention photography for our clients within the well-lighted spaces and walls of this amazing place.
• Speaking of space, we knew there was a lot. Now, when we do our special headshots and professional environmental photographs, we never know for sure how our client’s part of that 480,000 feet of meeting rooms will be arranged. And every season, they add more square footage to that flexible space.

We think the exciting word is “flexible,” because the meeting rooms and walls reconfigure to fit the size and needs of groups. Likewise, outside the OCCC, we make environmental portraits in multiple courtyards, patios, and porticos.

And may we add a wonderful appreciation for the photos we take and the films we make among the surrounding palms, water features, and landscaping. The indigenous lush but minimalist trees and plants truly speak “Floridian” to folks who visit from all over the globe.

Media Experts Shine

You might be surprised at the amount and types of media backgrounds we create among the colonnades, hallways, eateries, and classrooms of Orange County Convention Center.

We have already mentioned the fabulous opportunities we see in exhibits and product displays.

• Demo Videos:  For example, the space is excellent for Medical training demonstrations.
• Crowd Footage: We film excited crowds of people at various meetings in the rooms and halls of annual conferences of corporations, large and small.

We do not just cover the big conferences. Businesses large and small hold conventions and events at the OCCC.  In fact, experts have revealed that over “1,000 local businesses are impacted by the activity at the center.”   Likewise, you might be surprised to discover that the OCCC gives employment either directly or indirectly to more than 25,600 workers.  All this activity actually results in 2.1 billion dollars’ worth of yearly economic impact for the Central Florida area.  (At this point, we are blushing a little because we seem to be bragging a bit on our hometown.)
