2019 Halloween brings out the child in all of us. On the one hand, you might really be a kid, a middle-school-aged young man or young lady. You might be planning a big night of trick-or-treating with your friends. On the other Halloween Hand, you might be the dressed-up middle-aged chaperone of a kids’ Halloween party.
Likewise, you might just be the coolest grandmother on the block. But whatever your age, we realize you might be the designated photographer with the camera.

How to Make Photo Memories of the Halloween 2019 Scene–and Beyond
1. Number One of Our Top 7 Photo Tips: Dress Rehearsal with Camera and coaching:
Have everyone get dressed up. Then mom and dad are the directors of “movie moments.” Coach the kids into their character. They will have so much fun.
2. Number Two of Our Top 7 Photo Tips: Backgrounds are Important!
Choose a cool-looking place for the “rehearsal“photo-session. Posing in front of porches simply doesn’t always work. However, we’ve seen fake wings turn to gossamer in a simple park setting.
And, as another example, robots and aliens look really good at a local junkyard. And part of this photo tip mandates you do this shooting during the light of day, mid-afternoon if you can. As Trick-or-Treat night turns into darkness, you’ll have the advantage of gotten good, clear pictures in light of day.
Pro-Hint: Always ask permission about taking photos if the setting is private.
3. Number Three of Our Top 7 Photo Tips: Some Scene Setter Shots:
Get the shots of the pumpkins, the colored leaves, and spooky stuff. And don’t forget the family pet. Dogs might even wear a hat—with your cat…hmmmm… that’s less likely. But the pets with the costumed kids will help you make memories.
4. Number Four of Our Top 7 Photo Tips: Remember To Photograph from Several Levels!
Be sure to take some shots from a kneeling down Position, eye-to-eye, on the same level as the child. Then, take some photos from the “adult” position, standing. In later years, the smallness of the child will stand out.
5. Number Five of Our Top 7 Photo Tips: Shoot from a Worm’s Eye View:
Don’t forget at some point to make some images from a prone position on the ground (the worm’s eye view.) Likewise, try some shots standing high above the child for a variety of “looks.”
6. Number Six of Our Top 7 Photo Tips: Vary the Vampire Shots:
Take your shots from a variety of distances. Get close-ups with different expressions, as well as distant shots, whether your kids are vampires or princesses. And get those 2/3 views also. Plus, pose everyone individually and every group (All the guys!) and (all the gals!) sub-group.
7. Fly-Eyes! Take Your Camera to A Trick or Treat or Costumed Party Event:
